Our RAP artwork

The artwork featured on our RAP was created by CareerTrackers intern, Maddie Gibbs. Here, she tells the story of her artwork.

Maddie-Gibbs-CareerTrackers-intern.png

"This artwork tells a story of inclusion, unification, caring and support. The story is one of the land waterways and how they are protected and respected by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. How the rivers and lakes were carved out with a purpose. To nourish and sustain the land, and all living things on it. And how in turn for being provided with this source of life, we First Nations peoples connected with each other and developed systems to take care of the waterways and ensure that this critical source was safe and secure.

Just like First Nations peoples care for and the land, through the IAG Reconciliation Action Plan we can unite to take care of one another. Through acceptance, unity and equality, we can carve out new pathways and journeys as a collective to make change happen. To create a network that is not owned by but maintained by many and enabled to continue and evolve, through trust, acknowledgement, respect and support."
