IAG announces initiatives to help brokers during COVID-19
11 May 2020
IAG has introduced a number of initiatives to support its broker partners during the COVID-19 pandemic, including free counselling services, access to Lifeline Accidental Counsellor training programs, professional development and digital marketing campaign support, and a new CGU speaker webinar series exclusively for broker partners.
IAG Executive General Manager Business Distribution Steve Marshall said: “This is a difficult time for everyone, and we’ve been speaking to many of our broker partners to understand the challenges they’re facing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re pleased to introduce a series of initiatives to help brokers through these challenging times – including mental health and wellbeing programs, professional development and business support measures,” Mr Marshall said.
Free and confidential counselling support for all broker partners
IAG has partnered with Assure to offer brokers and their immediate family members access to a free confidential coaching and counselling service that is available 24/7. The services provided include counselling and psychological support, wellbeing coaching, financial coaching, legal and nutritional advice.
Each broker partner can access up to four one-hour sessions for each family member and all sessions are confidential. The offer is available now and partners simply need to call Assure on 1800 001 018, stating they are an IAG or CGU partner to access it.
Lifeline Accidental Counsellor training workshops
IAG has partnered with Lifeline to provide key broker partners the opportunity to participate in an ‘Accidental Counsellor’ workshop that will provide participants with skills that can help when dealing with distressed customers.
The sessions are designed to ensure people know how to identify and help someone who may be experiencing a crisis and know where to direct them if they need ongoing support from a professional.
CGU ‘Business as Unusual’ webinar series
CGU has announced a new speaker series for brokers called ‘Business as Unusual’, which gives its partners the opportunity to hear from high-profile Australian figures and businesspeople including former Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, well-known Australian businessman, Mark Bouris AM, and futurist and media commentator, Chris Riddell.
CGU broker partners will be sent an email with further details to register.
NIBA webinar series
CGU has partnered with the National Insurance Brokers Association to provide Continuing Professional Development accredited learning and development opportunities for insurance brokers Australia-wide. The webinars will cover a number of subjects with a focus on the current environment.
A digital marketing boost for broker partners
To provide an extra boost to their businesses, over the next few months IAG will be offering its key broker partners a fully funded digital marketing campaign with an independent digital agency, OneAffinti.
IAG response to COVID-19
In addition to these initiatives for brokers, IAG has been implementing numerous measures to support customers impacted by COVID-19 since March this year. For more information about IAG’s response visit our COVID-19 webpage.
