IAG has announced that Jacki Johnson, Group Executive of People, Performance & Reputation and a member of the company’s Group Leadership Team, will retire effective 30 June this year.
In her 18 years with IAG, Ms Johnson has held a number of executive positions across most areas of the company’s business. She established IAG’s first online start-up business, The Buzz, in 2009, and was CEO of IAG’s New Zealand business from 2010 to 2016, helping to lead the Christchurch recovery following the devastating Canterbury Earthquakes.
IAG Managing Director and CEO Peter Harmer said Ms Johnson’s retirement from IAG will do nothing to diminish her passion for insurance and for the work she has led to build community resilience.
“In her current role as Group Executive of People, Performance & Reputation, Jacki has been instrumental in bringing our purpose to life and in repositioning IAG as a leader in taking action on climate change. She has created a powerful and enduring legacy.
“I am pleased Jacki will continue to support IAG on some specific projects, and that she plans to continue with her existing non-executive director responsibilities outside IAG.
“Importantly, Jacki will remain as Co-Chair Global Steering Committee for the United Nations Environment Programme – Finance Initiative, where she will have the opportunity to continue to champion a more sustainable and safer world,” Mr Harmer said.
“I offer my personal and wholehearted thanks to Jacki for her unwavering commitment, loyalty and years of service to IAG and for her leadership and passion for every aspect of our industry.”
IAG will conduct an internal and external executive search to identify a suitable replacement for Ms Johnson’s portfolio.
