Bushfire update and customer support
19 Nov 2019
Please see below the latest bushfire (NSW & QLD) and hailstorm (QLD) update from IAG, which operates under NRMA Insurance, CGU Insurance and WFI Insurance in the affected areas.
We have all hands on deck to help customers get back on their feet after parts of Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast were struck by a hailstorm on Sunday 17 November.
To date, we have received more than 1,718 claims across our brands, with the majority of claims relating to motor damage.
Once a claim is lodged we can help our motor vehicle customers through the hail assessment and repair process. We’re setting up specialist hail repair units in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast to make this happen as soon as possible.
For our customers whose homes have been impacted by hail, our priority is ensuring their property is safe and our teams are on the ground helping those customers.
We can also arrange emergency accommodation while the damage is assessed and repaired.
NSW and QLD bushfires

We have emergency accommodation and financial assistance available for customers. We have also extended our call centre capacity to help affected customers lodge their claims as soon as possible.
We have additional claims support for NRMA Insurance customers at our agencies located in Port Macquarie, Taree and Forster. Please visit the NRMA NRMA website for a full list of agency locations.
Our disaster response customer support program is also available where customers can receive free and confidential counselling by a team of psychologists experienced in providing post-incident support.
