What we do
IAG acquired the United Kingdom (UK) businesses of Hastings in 2006 and Equity Insurance Group in 2007. These brands have strong motor insurance businesses and provide a combination of direct and third party multi channel distribution.

Equity Red Star
Equity Red Star is the UK's fifth largest motor insurer, and has been providing insurance to business and personal lines customers for the past 60 years. It was acquired by IAG in 2007.
Equity Insurance Brokers
Equity Insurance Brokers is IAG's UK specialist small businesses insurer offering of commercial insurance including haulage and heavy goods vehicles. It was acquired by IAG in 2007.
Barnett and Barnett
Barnett and Barnett offers full commercial insurance broking and risk management services to business. They also offer connected personal insurance along with financial planning, employee benefit and wealth management services. They were acquired by IAG in March 2008.
Hastings Direct
Hastings Direct offers car, motorcycle, van and classic car insurance online. It was acquired by IAG during 2006.
Open & Direct Insurance
Open & Direct Insurance was acquired by Equity Insurance Group in January 2007 and offers a full range of products, including private car, motorcycle, home, taxi and commercial insurances.
